Nordic Photography Space in TAIGA

26 and 27 October in the space TAIGA will take place a presentation of a new FotoDepartament project “Nordic Photography Space”, supported by Nordic Council of Ministers in Saint-Petersburg (Norden) during the spring session of the Nordic-Russian NGO Exchange programme. During these two days will be organized several open events for professional photographers and all the audience, interested in contemporary photography, functioning of art institutions, especially artist-run spaces, and Scandinavian culture.
The participants of the events will be several guests from Scandinavian artist-run photography organizations: Jenny Lindhe (Breadfield Press, Malmo, Sweden), Behzad Farazollahi and Bjarne Bare (MELK gallery, Oslo, Norway).

CONFERENCE: Nordic Photography Space
FotoDepartament will run a conference dedicated to the results of the meeting with 5 artist-run Scandinavian organizations. There will be presented a booklet and a short film about the entire trip. And also the guests of the event will be representatives of the two Nordic organizations: Jenny Lindhe (Breadfield Press, Malmo, Sweden), Behzad Farazollahi and Bjarne Bare (MELK gallery, Oslo, Norway). They will present their galleries and other activities and will tell about the perspectives of the collaboration.
In June 2014 in Saint-Petersburg will be hold an exhibition with artists from Russia, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, who will create works specially for this project.
