The photographs by Evgeny Mokhorev may remind you of the world of childhood dreams, the one you do not want to leave. In this world you may find snow-white lacy tulle covering the windows, old doors, leading to some secret places, walls and mirrors. Sometimes you find there an armchair or a chair to have a sit by the window, then you find a canvas or another rare object that suddenly appears in front of the viewer. But the most important in this world is the sunlight, flowing on the rough surfaces, and slightly touching the snowy bodies of the inhabitants of this world.
Children, teenagers, small Adams and Eves who know nothing about the forbidenness of relationships, shyness, worries and conventions of the outer world. Their bodies are perfect and their souls are pure. They are angels with wings, exploring themselves in a huge mirror. You can see both unconcern and doubt in their eyes, knowledge and doom, the power and strength that challenges life and at the same time the fear of it. They live between those mirrors, sliding walls and doors and do not hurry anywhere, because this world, full of light, is made for them. Like the last shelter of purity. In the studio of Evgeny Mokhorev. And the kids do not leave this world, because it is the only place that preserves the perfection, the ideal shimmering in the memories, the ideal that may have never existed.
The exhibition presents over 25 gelatin silver photographs made during the last three years.
