Alexander Sedelnikov’s exhibition See You Later is a result of three-years work.
Pictures taken in Saint-Petersburg and Chelyabinsk region, don’t document what is going on, don’t clarify the situation and history, but rather give a strange feeling. “See you” – a word that we pronounce to postpone the inevitable and accept our permanent existence under the eyes of another. The feeling that we have been put into this world and the need to take this confusion to ourself, every now and then blink in these photographs. Heroes enveloped in deep baroque darkness  evoke anxiety and admiration. Freely exist in borderline cases of the frame, they provoke  by their insularity, and turn the phrase See You Later into derision.

Combining the different temporal and spatial stratas, Alexander Sedelnikov raises issues of individual and common ratio, mythological and daily, profane. Fine work with photography’s the composition, light, texture doesn’t produce clean art forms, but induces¬ a multiple reading and shows a certain generation saying about himself.
