From 21th to 28th of June of 2011, FotoDepartament Foundation holds the seventh annual International Summer Photography Workshop in Petersburg. This year the workshop coincides with the program of cultural-educational exchange and communication in the field of photography – Nordic Photography Experience, therefore the tutors who will conduct the seminars, represent the contemporary photography from the countries of northern Europe – Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
International summer photographic workshop “Nordic Photography Experience” will consist of four, 4 day-long workshops and open meetings with the photographers. Also during the seminars, the exhibition of Norway photographer Morten Andersen – “Blue and Black” in FotoDepartament Gallery will be opened.
Intensive workshops with foreign photographers give the chance to try oneself in work on a serious level – to discuss and to work as equals with those that have an experience and to prove that one is confident in his work. Seminars like that are less educational and more motivational, energizing and helpful in defining for oneself the practical and creative sides of photography. Following the results of previous workshops it’s possible to say, that those were vital, when a photographer starts to think what one wants from photography, starts searching for knowledge, inspiration, advices and is ready to challenge oneself – to create and discuss projects with famous photographers during seminar.
